Complete the following tasks using EITHER the hockey player OR the personal training (PT) athlete:

PT participant the external load on this athlete is their programme in the gym, prescribed by the coach during each session, and includes both weight training and cardio training.

In your chosen case study:
first, describe how you would measure the impact of the external load on the selected athlete; briefly justify your measurement selection and consider how reliable and valid the data will be (5 marks)
second, describe how you would measure both sleep and hydration as two moderators that can impact on internal load; briefly justify your choice of measurements and consider how reliable and valid the data will be (10 marks).
Task 2 (500 words, 30 marks)
Explain the impact that external load PLUS the two moderators of internal load from Task 1 (sleep and hydration) can have on the athlete if they are not optimised.
Task 3 (300 words, 20 marks)
Discuss TWO strategies that can be implemented in the chosen coaching situation (i.e. hockey or PT athlete) to optimise 1) sleep and 2) hydration as the moderators of internal load (i.e. ONE strategy per moderator).
Part 2 biomechanical principles
(500 words, 35 marks)
When you are monitoring an athlete, you may look to measure any factors that impact on that athlete, their risk of injury and level of performance. With this in mind, complete the following two tasks:

Describe TWO external forces that act upon the athlete you selected in Part 1 in their sport or fitness activity.
