Time management is the key to being a successful student, is an article that state some factors that will lead you to success. To have a successful student life you need to arrange your time, and to do so there are some categories that you need to go through first. At the beginning, you should have a good time management overall. The most important thing in this part is to know your priorities. Second, you should be organized, you need to arrange your goals in the three-different way, you should set them according to your short, medium, and long-term goals. In other words, if you are student it would be better to express those in the from od daily, weekly, and term goals. Third, you should set for yourself a realistic schedule. Forth, you need to create an effective studying timetable. Finally, you should set for yourself some rewards and reminders (Shuilleabhain, 2013). The article is very important for student how does not know how to manage their life time, because its state thing in order with a lot of details and example that will help student understand their priorities, how to set a schedule, how to set for them self’s goals? Is explain thing set by step and in details.
Laura attempt to show the important of planning and working according to your priorities the important things and not the urgent. “Most of us look at our to-do list, determine which tasks we can knock out right away, and decide to start that important project “in a little while.” Then we go to lunch and say we will work on it this afternoon. Then what happens? You’re either too tired or a crisis comes up that demands your attention and you get nothing IMPORTANT accomplished that day. When “later” comes, there will always be something else you should be doing instead. If you always forego a little of something, a month later you will feel defeat for having accomplished so little. This is often referred to as the “TYRANNY OF THE URGENT.” We operate daily in the tension that the urgent and important bring. The problem is that the “important” tasks seldom must be done today, but the “urgent” tasks call for instant action. Endless demands pressure every hour and every day. As we push the “important” back one more day, we slowly become slaves to the tyranny of the urgent (Stack,2000).” Overall, I think that doing your important things before they turn out to be urgent is the best thing, because when things turn out to be urgent that mean that you don’t have time, your action should take place at the same moment. Therefore, when you have some important task you need to work according to the plan and don’t ever delay your important task. Also, you should always work according to your priorities for example just know you started working on your task, don’t go, and have a nap before you are done with your work because your priority right know is not to relax however it’s to be done with your important task.
Keeley, from the Bucks County Community College, through his article that talks about managing your time and study environment, we can say that student will be able to manage their time when they will start using their time wisely. But before that they need to know why are they in the college? What are their educational goals? What are their career goals? By knowing those things, a student will be able to analysis his current position and think where would he like to see himself in the future. This is the first thing to know where would you like to be. Second, by using time wisely that mean that you need to be able to clear your schedule, get motivated, identify your priorities, Make sure you understand the task, Break down the task into chunks, make it as enjoyable as possible when you really hate it, and you need to know that things should be done in a perfect way but that does not mean that they should end up as 100 percent (Keeley, 2011). The article is a very informative to my research because it helps student to identify weather they reach to the point where they can say that they can arrange their times or not. It is important to know if you are capable of arranging your time in a perfect way because if you determine that you lack some of the skills that are used in time management, you should improve your abilities.
The research that was done by Makasheva, and Isabekova talks about the Effect of time management skills on students’ academic performance. “there is a significant and positive relation between time planning, time management and academic performance of the 9 and 11 grade students at NIS Pavlodar. According to the survey results, students with high GPA are likely to have outstanding time management skills. Therefore, those students devote much time to academic related activities outside the class (reading books, working on projects, completing assignments). As respondents stated, it is urgent to manage time effectively in order to succeed in study and participate in the social life of school. Through this study the data suggests that students who are involved in extracurricular activities are forced, by the nature of their schedules, to manage their time better than those not involved. And those that are involved, proved to have a higher overall academic performance, as well as a higher desire to perform well (Makasheva, & Isabekova, 2016).” So, what we can conclude is that student who have the ability to manage their time tend to have a high performance and grades. Overall, time management is related to the performance. In other words, if you as a student want to have a high performance and grades try to master the skills of time management.
How to manage your time effectively? Is an article that talks about the time management skills. “It’s important that you develop effective strategies for managing your time to balance the conflicting demands of time for study, leisure, earning money and jobhunting. Time management skills are valuable in jobhunting, but also in many other aspects of life: from revising for examinations to working in a vacation job.” According to the writer if you want to manage your time there are some skills that are required for an effective time management. For instant, setting a clear goal, breaking your goals down into small steps, and reviewing your progress, list making, organizing, and avoiding procrastination (Woodcock, n.d.). What we can conclude is that for everything there are some basic skills or rules, even for time management there are some skills that a student should know to be able to manager their own time effectively.
Chua is a life couch who says that there are seven important reason why you should set goals in your life. First, by setting a goal in your life you will be able to control your life. Second, you will be able to get the maximum result. Third, you will be able to create a laser focus. Fourth, you will create accountability, which will be for your own only you will be able to look at it. So, if you want to check if you are on the track or not you can go and check easily by reviewing your goals. Fifth, setting a goal will motivate you and your body to always move forward. Sixth, it will allow you to be the best you can be. Finally, it will allow you to live your life in the best way, because if you now your goals and start working on them from now and step by step, you will never regret time passing and what you did in your life (Chua, n.d.). Those seven-important reason might help student understand the important of seating a goal in their life. I think that people should set for themselves some goals right now and not afterward, they are not supposed to delay seating a goal, to not regret life passing without achieving some achievement. Also, if you want to see your true abilities you should set some goals that will let you move forward and motivate you to work hard.
