JWI 510: Leadership in the 21st Century
Date Due 21st of July
Leadership is one of the things which should be considered for the purposes of ensuring that different business operations are carried out accordingly. The leaders in different organizations should be focused in ensuring that they work for the success of an organization. However, the leaders should come up with new ideas so as to ensure that the profits in the business are increased within a given period of time. (Bush, 2019)
As far as my most recent professional role is concerned, I experienced different leadership and managerial aspects. Some of the leadership and the managerial aspects I went through include:
- Excellent communication
- Ability to manage talents effectively
- Change management
As far as excellent communication is concerned, it played important roles in ensuring that I address the issues experienced by the other employees in the best way possible. It is as result of the excellent communication whereby I was able to solve the conflicts between the employees and hence come up with new ways of ensuring that the employees engage each other effectively.
In my entire professional role, I realized that leadership require effective communicators as that will help in ensuring that the issues arising in the organization are addressed in the shortest time possible. On the other hand, teamwork is the other leadership and managerial aspect which I have been able to experience. Teamwork plays important roles in ensuring that the employees are able to share ideas for the success of the business to be achieved.
The employees in the business should be encouraged to collaborate for the purposes of increasing the rates of the organization’s production. Again, teamwork helps in reducing the issues experienced in the organization due to the fact that the conflicts between the employees will be reduced. As a leader, I was entitled to a role of managing the talents in the organization.
It is through the effective management of the talents in the company whereby the innovation and the invention of the business were carried out in an effective manner. The talents in the organization should be managed for the purposes of ensuring that new ideas are introduced in the company for the purposes of increasing the quality of the products produced. (Clapp-Smith, 2019)
As a leader, I worked hard to ensure that changes are introduced in the work. The changes helped in ensuring that the organization is lead in the best way possible. As a visionary leader, I introduced new methods of production for the purposes of ensuring that the business achieves its objectives in the shortest time possible.
As a leader, I was impact by different experiences. Some of the experiences which impacted me are:
- Forward thinking
- Honesty and integrity
As far as the forward thinking is concerned, it enables me to make the right decisions on what activities should be carried out in an organization. The creative thinking in the organization played important roles in ensuring that different issues were addressed in the best way possible. My forward thinking was brought about by my ability to see both the current and future trends therefore ensuring that I come up with measures to address the occurring issues.
On the other hand, integrity and honesty is the other key experience which impacted me during my development period. As a leader, a person should remain honest in his dealing therefore reducing the cases of losses in an organization. Being truthful is one of the important aspects in an organization which should be considered by different leaders as that will drive the organization forward hence ensuring that the set goals and objectives are achieved in the stipulated time. (De Lisi, 2019)
As a leader, I have different leadership strengths which enable me to carry out different tasks accordingly. Some of my important leadership strengths include:
- A problem solver
- Creative thinker
Being a leader, I have been perfect in ensuring that the problems in my organization are solved in an effective manner. I have been able to solve different problems experienced by the other employees and hence coming up with new ways of ensuring that the problems are solved for the success of the business to be achieved in the required time.
When problems are experienced in my organization, I always come up with different solutions therefore ensuring that the organization is run accordingly. My ability to solve the problems in my organization has played important roles in reduction of the conflicts between the other employees. Again, I am a creative thinker.
This leadership strength has helped in ensuring that I come up with different ideas hence ensuring that the organization is run in the best way possible. As a creative thinker, I have been able to introduce new ways of ensuring that the organization is operated accordingly therefore facilitating the success of the business.
On matters related to the motivation of the employees, I have been able to come up with new formulas of ensuring that the employees are encouraged. The motivation of the employees has played important roles in ensuring that the employees’ morale is enhanced. It is my role as a leader to ensure that the workers are encouraged to work for the success of the business.
The experiences I underwent as a leader and my leadership strengths relate to my emotional intelligence and my DiSC profile in that I am able to control the emotions of the employees (DiSC). My ability to control the emotions of my employees as well as my own emotions played important roles in ensuring that the conflicts between the employees are reduced.
As a leader, I am able to understand my emotions and hence I have developed different ways of handling them. This has played important roles in ensuring that I am able to bring about stability in the work place. Being a problem solver has been made effective by my emotional intelligence therefore making it easy for the employees to live in peace and harmony.
In my future I would like to master different leadership skills. Some of the leadership skills I would want to master in future are:
I will master the leadership skills by borrowing ideas from the other leaders in my organization. On the other hand, I will measure my success by ensuring that I am able to utilize the organizations resources in the best way possible. (McGahan, 2019)
